The Dolphins put a flag in the ground for Walter Rouse, 59 picks before anyone else would have, and the value took the hit. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.
The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. On the needs board they went 4 of 8, with edge rusher the one that mattered most. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 21 they get a premier pass rusher, though they paid up to get him. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
They paid sticker price for Ja'Tavion Sanders in the 53rd pick, and that is fine. It fills a real need, too.
A conviction pick on Kitan Oladapo at slot 158 that the board grades a round light. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Jaylen Harrell at Round 6, Pick 11 is a conviction pick that outran the value. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They reached into another round for Walter Rouse, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
DeMonte Capehart in pick 242 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
