Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Dolphins spent the 242nd pick on Tahj Washington, a name most had 121 spots down the list. A dependable weekend that grades out a B-.
Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a double-digit-sack hope, though they paid up to get him. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
They liked Mekhi Wingo enough to skip the value, taking him in Round 2, Pick 21. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They did well to land McCallan Castles in the 158th pick, just ahead of his grade. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
They took Josh Proctor at par in No. 186, which is nothing to complain about. A minor need, but a need all the same.
A real head-scratcher, Walter Rouse in pick 199 is miles ahead of his ranking. It fills a real need, too.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Tahj Washington well ahead of where he belonged. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
