The Zion Logue pick is the one that will follow the Packers into the fall. They took him 67 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so. A dependable weekend that grades out a B+.
The All pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. The veteran additions, Danielle Hunter chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 25 they get a cornerstone up front at a price that makes it sweeter. A clean fit for the roster.
Chris Braswell at slot 42 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Javon Bullard slipping to pick No. 58 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A minor need, but a need all the same.
A clean, defensible pick in the 91st overall pick with a little surplus value in Blake Corum. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Dominick Puni at Round 4, Pick 5 is the proof. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They reached into another round for Tykee Smith, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
A cornerback of that caliber at pick 169 is the definition of value, full stop. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They reached a country mile for Bub Means at pick No. 202, and the board is aghast. It fills a real need, too.
Zion Logue at Round 6, Pick 44 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
A real head-scratcher, Taulia Tagovailoa in slot 245 is miles ahead of his ranking. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
No edge and no loss on Darius Muasau in the 253rd pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. It adds depth where they could use a little.
