There is a lot to like until you notice wide receiver is still a hole. The Cowboys never got to the one that mattered most. A dependable weekend that grades out a B-.
They will need Foster to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 24 they get a premier pass rusher at fair value. Need was not the driver here.
They did well to land Kalen King in the 56th overall pick, just ahead of his grade. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
No edge and no loss on TreVeyon Henderson in pick 87; it is a wash and a sensible one. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
A conviction pick on Javon Foster at Round 4, Pick 24 that the board grades a round light. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
