They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Jayden Daniels is the Patriots' quarterback, full stop.

They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. That Kneeland pick is the receipt they will wave around later.

The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The hoard sets up next April more than it helps this September.

The kind of weekend a front office frames and hangs on the wall.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.6 · Pick 6 · Jayden Daniels · QB · rank 7
In No. 6 they get a franchise quarterback at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
R2.2 · Pick 34 · Adonai Mitchell · WR · rank 31
Adonai Mitchell in Round 2, Pick 2 lands just on the right side of the ledger. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R2.19 · Pick 51 · Troy Franklin · WR · rank 33
They barely believed it either: Troy Franklin still on the board at pick 51. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
R3.10 · Pick 74 · Patrick Paul · OT · rank 69
A reasonable price with a little left over, Patrick Paul in the Round 3 slot. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R3.11 · Pick 75 · Jeremiah Trotter Jr. · LB · rank 67
Jeremiah Trotter Jr. slid further than he should have, and slot 75 is lovely value for the linebacker. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
R4.3 · Pick 103 · Christian Mahogany · OG · rank 98
Christian Mahogany in the 103rd overall pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. The roster fit checks out.
R4.15 · Pick 115 · Marshawn Kneeland · DE-EDGE · rank 80
They will replay Marshawn Kneeland at pick No. 115 for years; that is how good the value is. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
R4.17 · Pick 117 · Dadrion Taylor-Demerson · S · rank 86
The board fumbled Dadrion Taylor-Demerson all the way to the 117th pick, and they scooped it up. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
R4.19 · Pick 119 · Theo Johnson · TE · rank 123
They took Theo Johnson at par in pick 119, which is nothing to complain about. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
R5.1 · Pick 137 · Braelon Allen · RB · rank 106
A running back of that caliber at slot 137 is the definition of value, full stop. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
R7.11 · Pick 231 · Garret Greenfield · OT · rank 216
Garret Greenfield slipping to pick No. 231 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R7.14 · Pick 234 · Sheridan Jones · CB · rank 219
Nice patience on Sheridan Jones, who had no business lasting to No. 234. A minor need, but a need all the same.
