The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Vikings spent their marquee pick on Jayden Daniels, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.
Getting Brade where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. The dealing alone would carry a lesser class.
The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 3rd overall pick they get the face of the franchise. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
A interior defensive lineman of that caliber at Round 4, Pick 29 is the definition of value, full stop. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Taking Chau Smith-Wade in pick 157 is close to grand larceny; a cornerback that good had no business lasting this long. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Trevor Keegan in the 167th pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Beau Brade at pick No. 177 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Circle this one: Kendall Milton at No. 230 is a fall that decides a draft. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Steele Chambers at slot 232 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It adds depth where they could use a little.
