The Cowboys torched the value chart for Keaton Bills, taking him 20 spots sooner than anyone had him slotted.
Sweat at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 6 of 8 of the wish list covered. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 24 they get an anchor for the offensive line. The biggest hole, addressed.
T'Vondre Sweat at No. 56 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
They did well to land Trey Benson in pick No. 92, just ahead of his grade. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Jarrian Jones in the 125th overall pick is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They read the board right and Dwight McGlothern was the payoff at slot 174. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A market-rate linebacker, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Jordan Magee. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
A real head-scratcher, Keaton Bills in the 220th pick is miles ahead of his ranking. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A reach for Bub Means in pick 233; a little patience would have been rewarded. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Tylan Grable in the 244th overall pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
