There was a run on nobody at that position, and the Packers started one anyway for Michael Jurgens, 91 picks ahead of schedule. They executed a plan and it shows in the A-.
The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. The Robinson value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.
For all the activity, running back went untouched, which is hard to explain.
A strong weekend's work, and a rare one to find this little fault with.
Pick-by-Pick
Circle this one: Chop Robinson at pick No. 41 is a fall that decides a draft. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They did well to land Payton Wilson in the Round 2 slot, just ahead of his grade. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
A tidy bit of business in pick 88, where Max Melton graded well above the range. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Christian Mahogany at the 91st overall pick jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Mason McCormick well ahead of where he belonged. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Nice patience on Tykee Smith, who had no business lasting to slot 176. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
They paid sticker price for Joe Milton III in the 202nd pick, and that is fine. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
No drama and no debate, Caedan Wallace went about where he belonged in the Round 6 slot. A need, and now a little less of one.
Fair-plus on Nathaniel Watson, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
Devin Culp at Round 7, Pick 25 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Value said wait; Michael Jurgens in pick No. 255 says they were not listening. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
