Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Dadrion Taylor-Demerson got past him. The Packers do not have to explain a thing at No. 126.
The Packers indulged a want in Taylor-Demerson while a need in wide receiver, tight end and other spots stayed open. They will regret leaving wide receiver for another day if the season turns on it.
Good work on the whole, with wide receiver the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 25 they get a blindside protector. A real need, handled.
Graham Barton at the 41st overall pick is money in the bank, a offensive lineman taken below his worth. A need, and now a little less of one.
Payton Wilson in Round 2, Pick 26 is fair value, right on his grade. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
They robbed the room for T.J. Tampa here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
A tidy bit of business in slot 91, where Calen Bullock graded well above the range. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
A curious use of No. 126. Wide receiver, tight end and other spots needed the pick; a safety in Dadrion Taylor-Demerson did not.
A premium they did not need to pay, Khristian Boyd a notch or two before his time. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Joe Milton III in pick 202 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Nathaniel Watson in Round 6, Pick 44 lands just on the right side of the ledger. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
Rasheen Ali at pick 245 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A clean, defensible pick in the 255th overall pick with a little surplus value in LaDarius Henderson. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
