The Joe Milton III pick is the one that will follow the Packers into the fall. They took him 41 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so. Good, not great, and the B says as much.
The Oladapo steal is the beam this whole class leans on. They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
Somehow Tyler Guyton was still sitting there in No. 58, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. A need, and now a little less of one.
No edge and no loss on Jaylen Wright in slot 64; it is a wash and a sensible one. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
The board fumbled Jeremiah Trotter Jr. all the way to the 88th pick, and they scooped it up. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Value with a capital V on Cole Bishop in the Round 4 slot, a genuine coup. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
No drama and no debate, Mohamed Kamara went about where he belonged in pick 126. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
They took Jarrian Jones at par in pick No. 138, which is nothing to complain about. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A big swing on Joe Milton III at No. 159, well ahead of any board in the building. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
A conviction pick on Tip Reiman at the Round 5 slot that the board grades a round light. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
They barely believed it either: Kitan Oladapo still on the board at slot 186. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
Nice patience on Cornelius Johnson, who had no business lasting to pick 202. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Nathaniel Watson in Round 6, Pick 44 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
Tylan Grable in the 226th overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A real head-scratcher, Evan Anderson in pick No. 245 is miles ahead of his ranking. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
The board had Tarheeb Still higher than the 255th pick, and the cornerback fell to them anyway. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
