When a board-topper like Dwight McGlothern slides to the Round 6 slot, you do not overthink it, and the Packers did not. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
They will need Milton III to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. Adding Connor McGovern by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies.
Edge rusher is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 28th overall pick they get a blindside protector. A real need, handled.
A premium they did not need to pay, Edgerrin Cooper a notch or two before his time. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Christian Haynes at the 58th pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Junior Colson in No. 88 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
Jaden Hicks at slot 91 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Isaac Guerendo at pick No. 126 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They took Ben Sinnott at par in pick 128, which is nothing to complain about. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
By-the-book stuff, Jarrian Jones at Round 4, Pick 34 squarely in line with his ranking. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Malik Mustapha at pick No. 160 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
A real head-scratcher, Joe Milton III in No. 163 is miles ahead of his ranking. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
They paid up for Khristian Boyd at the Round 5 slot when waiting would have done the job. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
You do not let a cornerback like Dwight McGlothern reach slot 202 and blink. They did not. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Caedan Wallace in the 219th pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. The roster fit checks out.
They paid sticker price for Jalen Sundell in pick 245, and that is fine. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
A straight-up fair deal on Tyler Owens at Round 7, Pick 35, value and slot in agreement. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
Nice patience on Jordan Whittington, who had no business lasting to the 256th overall pick. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Evan Anderson well ahead of where he belonged. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
