The Packers put a flag in the ground for Jack Westover, 64 picks before anyone else would have, and the value took the hit. The bottom line is a respectable B.
Coleman falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. That running back hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 25th overall pick they get an island corner. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Javon Bullard slid further than he should have, and pick 51 is lovely value for the safety. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Braden Fiske at pick No. 58 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Taking Keon Coleman in Round 3, Pick 25 is close to grand larceny; a wide receiver that good had no business lasting this long. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Cedric Gray well ahead of where he belonged. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
No edge and no loss on Javon Foster in slot 119; it is a wash and a sensible one. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Value said wait; Hunter Nourzad in slot 126 says they were not listening. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
By-the-book stuff, Jordan Travis at the 169th pick squarely in line with his ranking. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Drake Nugent this early at No. 178. The roster fit checks out.
A clean, defensible pick in pick No. 202 with a little surplus value in Curtis Jacobs. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
They reached a country mile for Daijahn Anthony at pick 219, and the board is aghast. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Jalen Sundell in Round 7, Pick 25 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Dominique Hampton in the 255th overall pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
Jack Westover in the Round 7 slot is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
A wild overpay on Eyabi Okie-Anoma in pick No. 257, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
