Nobody dealt better than the Packers this weekend: C+.

Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Packers spent Round 7, Pick 36 on Jack Westover, a name most had 64 spots down the list.

They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. The Puni steal is the beam this whole class leans on.

The Packers clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before. It is a win-now wager, and the future is the stake.

Not a disaster, not a triumph, just a middling class.

Pick-by-Pick

R2.19 · Pick 51 · Edgerrin Cooper · LB · rank 49
They paid sticker price for Edgerrin Cooper in slot 51, and that is fine. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
R2.32 · Pick 64 · Braden Fiske · DL · rank 58
Braden Fiske at the 64th pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. It fills a real need, too.
R3.2 · Pick 66 · Zach Frazier · C · rank 62
Fair-plus on Zach Frazier, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R3.4 · Pick 68 · Payton Wilson · LB · rank 57
They read the board right and Payton Wilson was the payoff at the Round 3 slot. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
R3.9 · Pick 73 · Max Melton · CB · rank 76
Max Melton in Round 3, Pick 9 is fair value, right on his grade. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R3.20 · Pick 84 · Jaden Hicks · S · rank 85
Jaden Hicks at No. 84 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
R3.25 · Pick 88 · Trey Benson · RB · rank 87
No drama and no debate, Trey Benson went about where he belonged in slot 88. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
R3.27 · Pick 90 · Kris Abrams-Draine · CB · rank 81
A quiet steal in pick 90: Kris Abrams-Draine for less than the market said. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
R3.28 · Pick 91 · Christian Mahogany · OG · rank 98
They took Christian Mahogany at par in No. 91, which is nothing to complain about. A need, and now a little less of one.
R3.30 · Pick 93 · Brenden Rice · WR · rank 96
No edge and no loss on Brenden Rice in the 93rd overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
R3.35 · Pick 98 · Cole Bishop · S · rank 104
Cole Bishop at Round 3, Pick 35 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
R4.3 · Pick 103 · Braelon Allen · RB · rank 106
A market-rate running back, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Braelon Allen. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R4.4 · Pick 104 · Javon Foster · OT · rank 119
A conviction pick on Javon Foster at the 104th pick that the board grades a round light. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R4.13 · Pick 113 · Dominick Puni · OT · rank 89
They will replay Dominick Puni at pick No. 113 for years; that is how good the value is. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R4.14 · Pick 114 · Ben Sinnott · TE · rank 129
The board had cheaper options than Ben Sinnott at slot 114, and it noticed. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
R4.16 · Pick 116 · Mohamed Kamara · DL-EDGE · rank 133
They paid a round early for Mohamed Kamara in pick No. 116, more than the board wanted. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
R4.26 · Pick 126 · Michael Pratt · QB · rank 140
A premium they did not need to pay, Michael Pratt a notch or two before his time. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
R4.30 · Pick 130 · Johnny Wilson · WR · rank 125
Johnny Wilson at No. 130 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
R4.32 · Pick 132 · Jarrian Jones · CB · rank 136
Jarrian Jones in the 132nd pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
R5.2 · Pick 138 · Dallin Holker · TE · rank 150
Dallin Holker in the Round 5 slot is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R5.9 · Pick 145 · Justin Eboigbe · DL-EDGE · rank 148
By-the-book stuff, Justin Eboigbe at Round 5, Pick 9 squarely in line with his ranking. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R5.11 · Pick 147 · Malik Mustapha · S · rank 170
A big swing on Malik Mustapha at the 147th overall pick, well ahead of any board in the building. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
R5.26 · Pick 162 · Kamal Hadden · CB · rank 168
A straight-up fair deal on Kamal Hadden at pick 162, value and slot in agreement. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
R5.28 · Pick 164 · Jordan Jefferson · DT · rank 183
Jordan Jefferson at the 164th pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
R5.29 · Pick 165 · Tanor Bortolini · C · rank 187
Tanor Bortolini in No. 165 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. The roster fit checks out.
R5.33 · Pick 169 · Joe Milton III · QB · rank 200
This one needs a full-page explanation: Joe Milton III in Round 5, Pick 33, miles early. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
R6.3 · Pick 178 · Jordan Travis · QB · rank 172
Jordan Travis in slot 178 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R6.11 · Pick 186 · Cornelius Johnson · WR · rank 188
They took Cornelius Johnson at par in pick No. 186, which is nothing to complain about. The roster fit checks out.
R6.27 · Pick 202 · Jaylan Ford · LB · rank 205
Jaylan Ford at the Round 6 slot is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
R6.44 · Pick 219 · Trey Taylor · S · rank 267
Value said wait; Trey Taylor in the 219th overall pick says they were not listening. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
R7.25 · Pick 245 · Daijahn Anthony · CB · rank 237
A tidy bit of business in slot 245, where Daijahn Anthony graded well above the range. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R7.29 · Pick 249 · Jalen Sundell · OT · rank 246
Nothing to complain about; Jalen Sundell went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A need, and now a little less of one.
R7.35 · Pick 255 · Evan Anderson · DL · rank 282
A real head-scratcher, Evan Anderson in Round 7, Pick 35 is miles ahead of his ranking. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R7.36 · Pick 256 · Jack Westover · TE · rank 320
They left a pile of value on the table to take Jack Westover this early at No. 256. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
R7.39 · Pick 257 · Kimani Vidal · RB · rank 253
Kimani Vidal in the Round 7 slot lands just on the right side of the ledger. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
