Green Bay Packers

Larceny in pick 245 lands the Packers a B-, Flournoy and all.

Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Ryan Flournoy got past him. The Packers do not have to explain a thing at pick 245.

The cost of the Taylor reach is exactly the players who went right after him. The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Job largely done: cornerback settled and 6 of 8 of the wish list covered.

Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.25 · Pick 25 · Graham Barton · OT · rank 25
No drama and no debate, Graham Barton went about where he belonged in pick 25. It fills a real need, too.
R2.9 · Pick 41 · Tyler Nubin · S · rank 40
Tyler Nubin in Round 2, Pick 9 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
R2.26 · Pick 58 · Jonathon Brooks · RB · rank 48
They let Jonathon Brooks come to them and pounced at the 58th pick. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R3.25 · Pick 88 · Max Melton · CB · rank 76
Value with a capital V on Max Melton in No. 88, a genuine coup. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R3.28 · Pick 91 · Christian Mahogany · OG · rank 98
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Christian Mahogany. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R4.26 · Pick 126 · Ben Sinnott · TE · rank 129
They took Ben Sinnott at par in the Round 4 slot, which is nothing to complain about. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R5.34 · Pick 170 · Malik Mustapha · S · rank 170
Malik Mustapha in pick No. 170 is fair value, right on his grade. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
R6.27 · Pick 202 · Jaylan Ford · LB · rank 205
Jaylan Ford at slot 202 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It adds depth where they could use a little.
R6.44 · Pick 219 · Trente Jones · OT · rank 194
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Trente Jones in Round 6, Pick 44, plain and simple. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
R7.19 · Pick 239 · Trey Taylor · S · rank 269
A wild overpay on Trey Taylor in No. 239, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
R7.25 · Pick 245 · Ryan Flournoy · WR · rank 204
The board fumbled Ryan Flournoy all the way to the Round 7 slot, and they scooped it up. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R7.35 · Pick 255 · Sam Hartman · QB · rank 259
No edge and no loss on Sam Hartman in slot 255; it is a wash and a sensible one. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
