Green Bay Packers

The Packers bled value on every deal, hence the D+.

The Packers spent real capital to be 64 picks early on Jack Westover, and the board is going to hold them to it. Hard to defend, and the D+ reflects that.

They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. Landing Flournoy that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.

Spend now, pay later; the math only works if this class delivers.

It is a steep hill from here, and the grade knows it.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.25 · Pick 25 · Terrion Arnold · CB · rank 18
In the 25th overall pick they get a sticky cover corner. The biggest hole, addressed.
R1.27 · Pick 27 · Cooper DeJean · CB · rank 27
In pick No. 27 they get a potential shutdown corner at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
R2.18 · Pick 50 · Cooper Beebe · OG · rank 47
Cooper Beebe at Round 2, Pick 18 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the offensive lineman. It fills a real need, too.
R2.21 · Pick 53 · Payton Wilson · LB · rank 57
No drama and no debate, Payton Wilson went about where he belonged in No. 53. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
R2.26 · Pick 58 · Patrick Paul · OT · rank 69
They liked Patrick Paul enough to skip the value, taking him in the 58th pick. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R3.2 · Pick 66 · Braden Fiske · DL · rank 58
A tidy bit of business in pick 66, where Braden Fiske graded well above the range. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R3.7 · Pick 71 · Xavier Worthy · WR · rank 55
A slide stopped in the Round 3 slot, with Xavier Worthy worth more than the price. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
R3.25 · Pick 88 · Jaylen Wright · RB · rank 71
Value with a capital V on Jaylen Wright in the 88th pick, a genuine coup. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R3.28 · Pick 91 · Kingsley Suamataia · OT · rank 61
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Kingsley Suamataia in pick No. 91, plain and simple. The roster fit checks out.
R4.5 · Pick 105 · Cole Bishop · S · rank 104
A straight-up fair deal on Cole Bishop at pick 105, value and slot in agreement. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
R4.10 · Pick 110 · Cedric Gray · LB · rank 113
Cedric Gray at Round 4, Pick 10 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
R4.23 · Pick 123 · Ben Sinnott · TE · rank 129
Ben Sinnott at the 123rd overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
R4.27 · Pick 127 · Mohamed Kamara · DL-EDGE · rank 132
By-the-book stuff, Mohamed Kamara at No. 127 squarely in line with his ranking. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R5.2 · Pick 138 · Hunter Nourzad · C · rank 159
They reached a country mile for Hunter Nourzad at slot 138, and the board is aghast. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R5.33 · Pick 169 · Malik Mustapha · S · rank 170
Malik Mustapha in pick 169 is fair value, right on his grade. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
R6.44 · Pick 219 · Cornelius Johnson · WR · rank 186
Somehow Cornelius Johnson was still sitting there in Round 6, Pick 44, and they pounced on premier wide receiver value. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
R6.45 · Pick 220 · Nathaniel Watson · LB · rank 213
Nathaniel Watson in No. 220 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
R7.5 · Pick 225 · Trevin Wallace · LB · rank 233
Trevin Wallace in slot 225 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
R7.25 · Pick 245 · Ryan Flournoy · WR · rank 204
They barely believed it either: Ryan Flournoy still on the board at the 245th overall pick. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R7.26 · Pick 246 · Trey Taylor · S · rank 268
Trey Taylor at the 246th pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
R7.27 · Pick 247 · C.J. Hanson · OG · rank 263
They went early on C.J. Hanson in the Round 7 slot, and the value did not follow. A need, and now a little less of one.
R7.35 · Pick 255 · Kimani Vidal · RB · rank 253
A market-rate running back, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Kimani Vidal. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
R7.36 · Pick 256 · Austin Reed · QB · rank 274
Value said wait; Austin Reed in No. 256 says they were not listening. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
R7.39 · Pick 257 · Jack Westover · TE · rank 321
A wild overpay on Jack Westover in the 257th pick, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
