Green Bay Packers

The Packers let Rosemy-Jacksaint fall and pounced. Final grade: D-.

The Packers lost the trade war and it was not close, handing partners the better end again and again. Hard to defend, and the D- reflects that.

Every board in the league had Taylor lower, and that gap is the story. The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

That Rosemy-Jacksaint pick is the receipt they will wave around later.

The verdict is not kind, and fairly so; this class has a hill to climb.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.26 · Pick 26 · Graham Barton · OT · rank 26
Graham Barton at the Round 1 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R1.27 · Pick 27 · Cooper DeJean · CB · rank 27
In slot 27 they get a potential shutdown corner. Exactly the need they had to hit.
R2.26 · Pick 58 · Kris Jenkins · DL-EDGE · rank 50
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Kris Jenkins in Round 2, Pick 26. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R3.2 · Pick 66 · Payton Wilson · LB · rank 57
Payton Wilson at pick 66 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It adds depth where they could use a little.
R3.7 · Pick 71 · Patrick Paul · OT · rank 69
No edge and no loss on Patrick Paul in pick No. 71; it is a wash and a sensible one. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R3.25 · Pick 88 · Mike Sainristil · CB · rank 75
A slide stopped in the 88th overall pick, with Mike Sainristil worth more than the price. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
R3.27 · Pick 90 · Jaden Hicks · S · rank 85
Jaden Hicks at pick No. 90 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
R3.28 · Pick 91 · Javon Baker · WR · rank 90
They paid sticker price for Javon Baker in Round 3, Pick 28, and that is fine. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R4.4 · Pick 104 · Beaux Limmer · C · rank 126
They talked themselves into Beaux Limmer at pick 104, and the board did not agree. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
R4.29 · Pick 129 · Isaac Guerendo · RB · rank 128
Isaac Guerendo in the 129th overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R5.2 · Pick 138 · Michael Pratt · QB · rank 140
A straight-up fair deal on Michael Pratt at No. 138, value and slot in agreement. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
R5.33 · Pick 169 · Malik Mustapha · S · rank 170
No drama and no debate, Malik Mustapha went about where he belonged in the 169th pick. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
R6.27 · Pick 202 · Jaylan Ford · LB · rank 205
They took Jaylan Ford at par in slot 202, which is nothing to complain about. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
R6.44 · Pick 219 · Jase McClellan · RB · rank 196
Jase McClellan in the Round 6 slot should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R7.6 · Pick 226 · Trevin Wallace · LB · rank 233
By-the-book stuff, Trevin Wallace at the 226th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
R7.10 · Pick 230 · Jared Wiley · TE · rank 206
They barely believed it either: Jared Wiley still on the board at slot 230. The roster fit checks out.
R7.12 · Pick 232 · Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint · WR · rank 195
Taking Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint in No. 232 is close to grand larceny; a wide receiver that good had no business lasting this long. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R7.25 · Pick 245 · Trey Taylor · S · rank 268
A wild overpay on Trey Taylor in the Round 7 slot, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
R7.35 · Pick 255 · Edefuan Ulofoshio · LB · rank 236
Steal is underselling it; Edefuan Ulofoshio at pick No. 255 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
