Larceny in Round 6, Pick 27 lands the Packers a B, Hadden and all.

The rest of the league will want that one back. Kamal Hadden tumbling to the Packers in the 202nd overall pick is a gift they did not have to think twice about. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.

The phones were where this weekend was really won. The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

The Packers clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.25 · Pick 25 · Amarius Mims · OT · rank 25
In the Round 1 slot they get an anchor for the offensive line. A real need, handled.
R2.9 · Pick 41 · Kris Jenkins · DL-EDGE · rank 50
A reach on Kris Jenkins in pick No. 41; the board had better options right there. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R2.26 · Pick 58 · Javon Bullard · S · rank 42
They read the board right and Javon Bullard was the payoff at No. 58. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
R3.28 · Pick 91 · Khyree Jackson · CB · rank 95
A straight-up fair deal on Khyree Jackson at slot 91, value and slot in agreement. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
R3.37 · Pick 100 · Zak Zinter · OG · rank 105
They took Zak Zinter at par in the 100th overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
R4.26 · Pick 126 · Cedric Gray · LB · rank 113
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Cedric Gray at pick 126 is the proof. A minor need, but a need all the same.
R5.33 · Pick 169 · Cody Schrader · RB · rank 174
Cody Schrader at Round 5, Pick 33 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
R6.27 · Pick 202 · Kamal Hadden · CB · rank 167
A cornerback of that caliber at the 202nd pick is the definition of value, full stop. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
R6.44 · Pick 219 · Jaylan Ford · LB · rank 205
Jaylan Ford at pick No. 219 is money in the bank, a linebacker taken below his worth. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
R7.25 · Pick 245 · Dominique Hampton · S · rank 234
A tidy bit of business in the Round 7 slot, where Dominique Hampton graded well above the range. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
R7.35 · Pick 255 · Jalen Sundell · OT · rank 246
A quiet steal in the 255th overall pick: Jalen Sundell for less than the market said. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
