A mixed bag for the Packers, and a C+ to match.

The Packers treated their own grade as gospel and everyone else's as noise, spending the Round 7 slot on Kyle Hergel a full 89 spots early. The final tally is a middling C+.

The Tracy Jr. value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want.

If Kool-Aid McKinstry and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.25 · Pick 25 · Kool-Aid McKinstry · CB · rank 24
In pick No. 25 they get a press-man option on the boundary. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
R2.9 · Pick 41 · T'Vondre Sweat · DT · rank 45
A market-rate interior defensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on T'Vondre Sweat. A need, and now a little less of one.
R2.26 · Pick 58 · Jaden Hicks · S · rank 85
This one needs a full-page explanation: Jaden Hicks in Round 2, Pick 26, miles early. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
R3.25 · Pick 88 · Jeremiah Trotter Jr. · LB · rank 67
Jeremiah Trotter Jr. at pick 88 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
R3.28 · Pick 91 · Roger Rosengarten · OT · rank 135
A real head-scratcher, Roger Rosengarten in No. 91 is miles ahead of his ranking. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
R4.26 · Pick 126 · Ray Davis · RB · rank 109
Ray Davis is a better player than slot 126 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
R5.33 · Pick 169 · Dallin Holker · TE · rank 151
The board fumbled Dallin Holker all the way to slot 169, and they scooped it up. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
R5.35 · Pick 171 · Kitan Oladapo · S · rank 154
Kitan Oladapo in No. 171 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
R5.36 · Pick 172 · Joe Milton III · QB · rank 200
They left a pile of value on the table to take Joe Milton III this early at the 172nd pick. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R6.27 · Pick 202 · Tyrone Tracy Jr. · WR · rank 151
They robbed the room for Tyrone Tracy Jr. here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R6.44 · Pick 219 · Trente Jones · OT · rank 194
You do not let an offensive lineman like Trente Jones reach Round 6, Pick 44 and blink. They did not. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R7.25 · Pick 245 · Nick Gargiulo · C · rank 281
They reached a country mile for Nick Gargiulo at the 245th overall pick, and the board is aghast. It fills a real need, too.
R7.35 · Pick 255 · Kyle Hergel · OG · rank 344
Kyle Hergel at pick No. 255 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
