The Packers cashed the board's mistake on Flournoy: C.

The rest of the league will want that one back. Ryan Flournoy tumbling to the Packers in slot 257 is a gift they did not have to think twice about.

They are betting Culp proves the room right and everyone else wrong. The trades bled value they could not afford to lose.

They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

So much rides on Terrion Arnold that the real verdict is a season or two away.

Pick-by-Pick

R2.5 · Pick 37 · Terrion Arnold · CB · rank 18
Terrion Arnold at the 37th overall pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R2.9 · Pick 41 · Kool-Aid McKinstry · CB · rank 24
Kool-Aid McKinstry is a better player than slot 41 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
R2.26 · Pick 58 · Edgerrin Cooper · LB · rank 49
A tidy bit of business in the Round 2 slot, where Edgerrin Cooper graded well above the range. A minor itch, scratched.
R3.5 · Pick 69 · Brian Thomas Jr. · WR · rank 28
They robbed the room for Brian Thomas Jr. here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A need, and now a little less of one.
R3.25 · Pick 88 · Dominick Puni · OT · rank 88
Dominick Puni at the 88th pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The roster fit checks out.
R4.4 · Pick 104 · Ray Davis · RB · rank 109
No edge and no loss on Ray Davis in No. 104; it is a wash and a sensible one. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
R4.5 · Pick 105 · Dadrion Taylor-Demerson · S · rank 86
Steal is underselling it; Dadrion Taylor-Demerson at Round 4, Pick 5 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
R4.26 · Pick 126 · Roger Rosengarten · OT · rank 135
They jumped the gun on Roger Rosengarten, taking him earlier than his grade liked. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R5.2 · Pick 138 · Khristian Boyd · DL-EDGE · rank 178
A real head-scratcher, Khristian Boyd in the 138th overall pick is miles ahead of his ranking. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R5.9 · Pick 145 · Kitan Oladapo · S · rank 154
A premium they did not need to pay, Kitan Oladapo a notch or two before his time. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
R5.11 · Pick 147 · AJ Barner · TE · rank 172
A swing that ignored the value entirely, AJ Barner well ahead of where he belonged. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
R5.26 · Pick 162 · Malik Mustapha · S · rank 170
They liked Malik Mustapha enough to skip the value, taking him in No. 162. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
R5.33 · Pick 169 · Joe Milton III · QB · rank 201
They left a pile of value on the table to take Joe Milton III this early at the 169th pick. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
R6.27 · Pick 202 · Walter Rouse · OT · rank 164
You do not let an offensive lineman like Walter Rouse reach pick No. 202 and blink. They did not. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R6.28 · Pick 203 · Jaylan Ford · LB · rank 206
They took Jaylan Ford at par in Round 6, Pick 28, which is nothing to complain about. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
R6.44 · Pick 219 · Trey Taylor · S · rank 266
Trey Taylor at slot 219 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
R7.5 · Pick 225 · Jase McClellan · RB · rank 197
They barely believed it either: Jase McClellan still on the board at Round 7, Pick 5. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
R7.6 · Pick 226 · Trente Jones · OT · rank 195
Trente Jones in the 226th overall pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R7.25 · Pick 245 · Trevin Wallace · LB · rank 234
Trevin Wallace slipping to pick No. 245 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
R7.35 · Pick 255 · Daijahn Anthony · CB · rank 238
A slide stopped in the Round 7 slot, with Daijahn Anthony worth more than the price. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
R7.36 · Pick 256 · Devin Culp · TE · rank 304
Devin Culp at slot 256 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
R7.39 · Pick 257 · Ryan Flournoy · WR · rank 205
Ryan Flournoy at pick 257 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
