Priorities are a choice, and the Packers made a strange one, taking Renardo Green at safety in No. 88 with running back, wide receiver and other spots crying out for the pick instead. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.
The Milton III steal is the beam this whole class leans on. The cost of the Bortolini reach is exactly the players who went right after him. A whole weekend of picks and running back is somehow still a want.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 25th overall pick they get an island corner. The biggest hole, addressed.
Javon Bullard in pick No. 41 is fair value, right on his grade. A minor itch, scratched.
They took Payton Wilson at par in slot 58, which is nothing to complain about. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
The eyebrow-raiser of the weekend. They went safety with Renardo Green while clear needs at running back, wide receiver and other spots sat open.
Marshawn Kneeland is a better player than No. 91 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They paid sticker price for Ben Sinnott in the 126th pick, and that is fine. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
They reached into another round for Tanor Bortolini, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It fills a real need, too.
Trente Jones in Round 6, Pick 27 lands just on the right side of the ledger. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They will replay Joe Milton III at the Round 6 slot for years; that is how good the value is. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Jalen Sundell. A need, and now a little less of one.
They let Daijahn Anthony come to them and pounced at the 255th overall pick. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
