Green Bay Packers

Good, not great, for the Packers: B-.

The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Packers reached some 41 spots for Trey Taylor, and value like that does not grow back.

Landing Magee that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.25 · Pick 25 · Cooper DeJean · CB · rank 27
In the 25th pick they get an island corner. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
R2.9 · Pick 41 · Junior Colson · LB · rank 52
A reach on Junior Colson in pick No. 41; the board had better options right there. It adds depth where they could use a little.
R2.26 · Pick 58 · Zach Frazier · C · rank 62
They took Zach Frazier at par in the Round 2 slot, which is nothing to complain about. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
R3.28 · Pick 91 · Mike Sainristil · CB · rank 75
A tidy bit of business in slot 91, where Mike Sainristil graded well above the range. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
R4.5 · Pick 105 · Beaux Limmer · C · rank 127
A real head-scratcher, Beaux Limmer in the 105th overall pick is miles ahead of his ranking. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R4.10 · Pick 110 · Ray Davis · RB · rank 109
By-the-book stuff, Ray Davis at No. 110 squarely in line with his ranking. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
R4.26 · Pick 126 · Theo Johnson · TE · rank 122
Fair-plus on Theo Johnson, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R5.33 · Pick 169 · Kitan Oladapo · S · rank 154
The board had Kitan Oladapo higher than slot 169, and the safety fell to them anyway. A minor itch, scratched.
R6.27 · Pick 202 · Trente Jones · OT · rank 195
A tidy little value on Trente Jones in the Round 6 slot, a step better than break-even. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R6.44 · Pick 219 · Sam Hartman · QB · rank 259
Sam Hartman at pick 219 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R7.5 · Pick 225 · Trey Taylor · S · rank 266
They reached into another round for Trey Taylor, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
R7.25 · Pick 245 · Jordan Magee · LB · rank 222
Somehow Jordan Magee was still sitting there in the 245th overall pick, and they pounced on premier linebacker value. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
R7.33 · Pick 253 · Matthew Jones · OG · rank 265
The board had cheaper options than Matthew Jones at the 253rd pick, and it noticed. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
R7.35 · Pick 255 · Daijahn Anthony · CB · rank 238
Value with a capital V on Daijahn Anthony in pick No. 255, a genuine coup. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
