Green Bay Packers

Nothing loud, just a tidy B- for the Packers.

The tape said wait; the Packers did not. Josiah Ezirim went at the Round 7 slot, a good 36 picks before the board was ready.

The Puni value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. The wide receiver spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.25 · Pick 25 · Kool-Aid McKinstry · CB · rank 24
In No. 25 they get a potential shutdown corner. The biggest hole, addressed.
R2.9 · Pick 41 · Tyler Guyton · OT · rank 29
Tyler Guyton at pick 41 is money in the bank, a offensive lineman taken below his worth. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
R2.26 · Pick 58 · Edgerrin Cooper · LB · rank 49
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Edgerrin Cooper at the 58th overall pick. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
R3.28 · Pick 91 · Jaden Hicks · S · rank 85
Good price on Jaden Hicks in pick No. 91, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
R3.33 · Pick 96 · Christian Mahogany · OG · rank 98
No drama and no debate, Christian Mahogany went about where he belonged in the Round 3 slot. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R4.16 · Pick 116 · Dominick Puni · OT · rank 88
A offensive lineman of that caliber at Round 4, Pick 16 is the definition of value, full stop. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
R4.26 · Pick 126 · Ben Sinnott · TE · rank 130
Ben Sinnott at the Round 4 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It fills a real need, too.
R5.33 · Pick 169 · Tommy Eichenberg · LB · rank 146
Tommy Eichenberg at slot 169 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
R5.35 · Pick 171 · Malik Mustapha · S · rank 171
A straight-up fair deal on Malik Mustapha at the 171st overall pick, value and slot in agreement. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
R5.36 · Pick 172 · Joe Milton III · QB · rank 199
Joe Milton III at No. 172 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R6.27 · Pick 202 · Khristian Boyd · DL-EDGE · rank 179
Khristian Boyd in the 202nd pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
R6.44 · Pick 219 · Frank Gore Jr. · RB · rank 228
A premium they did not need to pay, Frank Gore Jr. a notch or two before his time. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
R7.25 · Pick 245 · Trey Taylor · S · rank 262
A conviction pick on Trey Taylor at pick 245 that the board grades a round light. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
R7.35 · Pick 255 · Josiah Ezirim · OL · rank 291
They reached a country mile for Josiah Ezirim at pick No. 255, and the board is aghast. A need, and now a little less of one.
