It is a puzzling start. The Packers had quarterback, wide receiver and other spots to solve and reached instead for Jack Kiser, a linebacker, at No. 115. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.
The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Burch has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. Walker falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 19 they get a load in the middle, outstanding value to boot.
No drama and no debate, TreVeyon Henderson went about where he belonged in pick No. 51. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Nothing to complain about; Jamon Dumas-Johnson went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
A want over a need in No. 115: Jack Kiser adds a linebacker while quarterback, wide receiver and other spots keeps waiting.
By-the-book stuff, Jasheen Davis at the Round 5 slot squarely in line with his ranking. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Dorian Strong at Round 6, Pick 19 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They liked Jordan Burch enough to skip the value, taking him in slot 211. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
