Call it larceny. Shilo Sanders sat on the board until the Round 4 slot, and the Packers did not need to be asked twice.
Spending an early pick on linebacker with quarterback, running back and other spots open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to. A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want. The Stutsman pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 19 they get a load in the middle, outstanding value to boot.
A reach for Danny Stutsman in pick No. 52; a little patience would have been rewarded. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Jonah Monheim in the 95th overall pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. The roster fit checks out.
Of all the spots to shop, they chose linebacker. Jack Kiser in the Round 4 slot leaves quarterback, running back and other spots for later.
A safety of that caliber at Round 4, Pick 20 is the definition of value, full stop. A minor itch, scratched.
Malik Spencer in pick 127 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Zion Nelson in the 147th pick is fair value, right on his grade. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Sean Martin in No. 179. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
They took Bru McCoy at par in No. 180, which is nothing to complain about. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They liked Jordan Burch enough to skip the value, taking him in pick 211. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
