This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Jordan Hancock, the No. 119 name on the board, stolen at the Round 7 slot. Good, not great, and the B says as much.
The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. They squeezed a little extra out of every move they made.
Edge rusher is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 26 they get a three-down second-level presence, outstanding value to boot. Need was not the driver here.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Walter Nolen in slot 51. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
The board had Ashton Gillotte higher than pick 58, and the edge rusher fell to them anyway. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
They took Jonah Monheim at par in the 83rd overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. It fills a real need, too.
Wyatt Milum at pick No. 115 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the offensive lineman. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Rylie Mills at the 179th pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
They robbed the room for Jordan Hancock here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
