You build a draft on nights like this. Tre Harris had no business being available in slot 222, and the Packers did the only sane thing and turned in the card. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.
Reaching for Fleming left real value on the table behind him. A small leak at the table, if not a fatal one. They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
They bet on numbers rather than a single high pick.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
Circle this one: Travis Hunter at pick 51 is a fall that decides a draft. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They robbed the room for Harold Perkins Jr. here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It adds depth where they could use a little.
No edge and no loss on Tate Ratledge in the 54th pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They barely believed it either: Walter Nolen still on the board at the 86th overall pick. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They took Trevor Etienne at par in pick No. 87, which is nothing to complain about. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
