Green Bay Packers

Mills should have been long gone. The Packers pounced, and earned a B+.

Call it larceny. Rylie Mills sat on the board until pick 211, and the Packers did not need to be asked twice.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. The trade work was a quiet net positive.

Edge rusher is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.20 · Pick 20 · Will Johnson · CB · rank 3
A quiet steal in pick 20: Will Johnson for less than the market said. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R2.19 · Pick 51 · Quinshon Judkins · RB · rank 25
Taking Quinshon Judkins in the Round 2 slot is close to grand larceny; a running back that good had no business lasting this long. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
R3.19 · Pick 83 · Walter Nolen · DL · rank 42
The board fumbled Walter Nolen all the way to Round 3, Pick 19, and they scooped it up. A need, and now a little less of one.
R3.20 · Pick 84 · Shilo Sanders · S · rank 78
Shilo Sanders at the 84th overall pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A minor need, but a need all the same.
R4.19 · Pick 115 · Dani Dennis-Sutton · DE-EDGE · rank 52
Somehow Dani Dennis-Sutton was still sitting there in pick No. 115, and they pounced on premier edge rusher value. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
R5.19 · Pick 147 · Jonah Monheim · OT · rank 86
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Jonah Monheim in the 147th pick, plain and simple. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
R6.19 · Pick 179 · Jack Kiser · LB · rank 121
Jack Kiser in slot 179 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A minor itch, scratched.
R6.20 · Pick 180 · Wyatt Milum · OT · rank 112
Wyatt Milum at No. 180 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It fills a real need, too.
R7.19 · Pick 211 · Rylie Mills · DL · rank 96
Rylie Mills in slot 211 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
