The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Rylie Mills, slot 211, roughly 115 picks past where he belonged.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. They are betting Ratledge proves the room right and everyone else wrong.
They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 19 they get a press-man option on the boundary, outstanding value to boot. Exactly the need they had to hit.
They went early on Tate Ratledge in No. 51, and the value did not follow. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A tidy little value on Jamon Dumas-Johnson in Round 3, Pick 19, a step better than break-even. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Walter Nolen at the 115th overall pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Somehow Shemar Turner was still sitting there in the 147th pick, and they pounced on premier edge rusher value. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Wyatt Milum in the Round 6 slot should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Rylie Mills at pick 211 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
