This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Tre Harris, the No. 44 name on the board, stolen at the 152nd overall pick. One of the weekend's best, top to bottom, and a A- to show for it.
Williams has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up.
In short, they turned a good board into a better roster, and it shows.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 24 they get a lockdown presence outside, outstanding value to boot. Exactly the need they had to hit.
In the Round 1 slot they get a bendy edge with upside at a price that makes it sweeter. The biggest hole, addressed.
Jonah Monheim at No. 85 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They will replay Walter Nolen at the 91st pick for years; that is how good the value is. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Jamon Dumas-Johnson in the 115th overall pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A minor itch, scratched.
A offensive lineman of that caliber at pick No. 147 is the definition of value, full stop. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
A top-tier linebacker at a bargain, Deontae Lawson in slot 151, plain and simple. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
Circle this one: Tre Harris at pick 152 is a fall that decides a draft. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
They robbed the room for Rylie Mills here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They paid a round early for Chip Trayanum in Round 7, Pick 1, more than the board wanted. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
A real head-scratcher, Chantz Williams in No. 211 is miles ahead of his ranking. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Steal is underselling it; Jordan Hancock at pick No. 218 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
