The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Packers reached some 36 spots for Khordae Sydnor, and value like that does not grow back.
Landing Williams that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want.
Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 19 they get an island corner. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Tyleik Williams at No. 51 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
They paid sticker price for Jonah Monheim in pick No. 83, and that is fine. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
The board had cheaper options than Raheim Sanders at slot 127, and it noticed. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They paid up for Jasheen Davis at the Round 5 slot when waiting would have done the job. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
They paid a round early for Zach Rice in pick 159, more than the board wanted. The roster fit checks out.
They talked themselves into Khordae Sydnor at No. 179, and the board did not agree. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They reached a country mile for Ali Jennings at Round 7, Pick 19, and the board is aghast. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
