The Packers spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Rylie Mills, the No. 100 name on the board, in pick No. 215. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.
For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.
Trading back for volume was the quiet throughline of their weekend.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 27 they get a downhill hitter at safety, and a steal at that.
Tyleik Williams at pick 55 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It fills a real need, too.
Jonah Monheim at the Round 3 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
A edge rusher of that caliber at the 91st overall pick is the definition of value, full stop. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A clean, defensible pick in Round 4, Pick 23 with a little surplus value in J. Michael Sturdivant. The roster fit checks out.
Tyler Baron at the 123rd pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Aydan White is a better player than pick No. 151 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
You do not let an offensive lineman like Wyatt Milum reach No. 183 and blink. They did not. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Steal is underselling it; Rylie Mills at the Round 7 slot is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
