Green Bay Packers

The steal of the weekend belongs to the Packers and Harris: B-.

Call it larceny. Tre Harris sat on the board until slot 219, and the Packers did not need to be asked twice.

The cost of the Jones reach is exactly the players who went right after him. The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close.

Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Job largely done: edge rusher settled and 7 of 8 of the wish list covered.

Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.27 · Pick 27 · Travis Hunter · CB · rank 3
In No. 27 they get an island corner at a price that makes it sweeter. Exactly the need they had to hit.
R2.23 · Pick 55 · Tyleik Williams · DT · rank 27
They will replay Tyleik Williams at pick No. 55 for years; that is how good the value is. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
R3.23 · Pick 87 · Quinshon Judkins · RB · rank 25
Quinshon Judkins at slot 87 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R3.27 · Pick 91 · Oscar Delp · TE · rank 84
They did well to land Oscar Delp in the 91st pick, just ahead of his grade. A need, and now a little less of one.
R4.23 · Pick 119 · Ashton Gillotte · DL-EDGE · rank 46
They robbed the room for Ashton Gillotte here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R4.27 · Pick 123 · Jonah Monheim · OT · rank 88
Jonah Monheim in Round 4, Pick 27 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R5.23 · Pick 151 · Deontae Lawson · LB · rank 81
Deontae Lawson at the 151st overall pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A minor itch, scratched.
R6.23 · Pick 183 · Bryce Foster · C · rank 158
Bryce Foster in the Round 6 slot is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R7.23 · Pick 215 · Xavian Sorey Jr. · LB · rank 202
A slide stopped in the Round 7 slot, with Xavian Sorey Jr. worth more than the price. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
R7.24 · Pick 216 · Jordan Hancock · CB · rank 126
Somehow Jordan Hancock was still sitting there in the 216th overall pick, and they pounced on premier cornerback value. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
R7.25 · Pick 217 · Rylie Mills · DL · rank 100
They barely believed it either: Rylie Mills still on the board at slot 217. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R7.26 · Pick 218 · Wyatt Milum · OT · rank 118
The board fumbled Wyatt Milum all the way to pick 218, and they scooped it up. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
R7.27 · Pick 219 · Tre Harris · WR · rank 44
Taking Tre Harris in the 219th pick is close to grand larceny; a wide receiver that good had no business lasting this long. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
R7.28 · Pick 220 · Julian Fleming · WR · rank 309
Julian Fleming in No. 220 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
R7.29 · Pick 221 · Dorian Strong · CB · rank 209
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Dorian Strong in Round 7, Pick 29. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
R7.30 · Pick 222 · Sai'vion Jones · DE-EDGE · rank 369
A wild overpay on Sai'vion Jones in pick No. 222, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
R7.31 · Pick 223 · Zion Nelson · OT · rank 171
Zion Nelson in pick No. 223 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R7.32 · Pick 224 · Bru McCoy · WR · rank 206
Steal is underselling it; Bru McCoy at Round 7, Pick 32 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It fills a real need, too.
