The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Quinshon Judkins, pick No. 183, roughly 158 picks past where he belonged.
They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up.
Adding Marquez Valdes-Scantling by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies. Job largely done: running back settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered.
Bottom line, they did the job about as well as it can be done.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 27 they get an enforcer at safety at a price that makes it sweeter. More want than need.
Steal is underselling it; Tyleik Williams at No. 55 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
You do not let a running back like TreVeyon Henderson reach the 87th pick and blink. They did not. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Kenneth Grant at slot 91 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It fills a real need, too.
A wide receiver of that caliber at the Round 4 slot is the definition of value, full stop. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Jonah Monheim in the 123rd overall pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. The roster fit checks out.
A top-tier tight end at a bargain, Oscar Delp in pick 151, plain and simple. A need, and now a little less of one.
Somehow Quinshon Judkins was still sitting there in pick No. 183, and they pounced on premier running back value. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They will replay Deontae Lawson at the 215th pick for years; that is how good the value is. It adds depth where they could use a little.
