You build a draft on nights like this. Garrett Nussmeier had no business being available in pick 216, and the Packers did the only sane thing and turned in the card. A weekend that fought the value and lost, hence the D.
They have staked the next five years on Quinn Ewers, which is the only story that really matters here. The trade table is where this weekend went wrong. The Packers clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before.
The verdict is not kind, and fairly so; this class has a hill to climb.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 27 they get their quarterback of the future at a price that makes it sweeter. The biggest hole, addressed.
They robbed the room for Malaki Starks here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Kenneth Grant at pick No. 56 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It fills a real need, too.

Evan Stewart in pick 87 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
A offensive lineman of that caliber at the 88th overall pick is the definition of value, full stop. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Somehow Ashton Gillotte was still sitting there in Round 3, Pick 27, and they pounced on premier edge rusher value. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
