This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Tre Harris, the No. 68 name on the board, stolen at the Round 6 slot.
The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. The Simon pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback. They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
Malaki Starks in the 55th pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It adds depth where they could use a little.
They barely believed it either: Jabbar Muhammad still on the board at pick 97. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Somehow Ashton Gillotte was still sitting there in slot 119, and they pounced on premier edge rusher value. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They robbed the room for Jordan Hancock here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Taking Oscar Delp in No. 147 is close to grand larceny; a tight end that good had no business lasting this long. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Wyatt Milum in the Round 5 slot, plain and simple. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Collin Oliver at pick No. 173 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Steal is underselling it; Tre Harris at the 183rd overall pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
They will replay Jonah Monheim at the Round 6 slot for years; that is how good the value is. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Jack Kiser in the 211th pick. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
A wild overpay on Cody Simon in pick 215, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
