The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Tate Ratledge, the Round 4 slot, roughly 61 picks past where he belonged. The bottom line is a respectable B+.
The wide receiver hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The Griffith reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. Job largely done: edge rusher settled and 6 of 8 of the wish list covered.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 24 they get a premier pass rusher at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Denzel Burke in the 55th overall pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
You do not let a running back like Quinshon Judkins reach the 56th pick and blink. They did not. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They barely believed it either: Tate Ratledge still on the board at the Round 4 slot. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Nothing to complain about; Riley Leonard went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Zy Alexander in No. 183 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A premium they did not need to pay, Thor Griffith a notch or two before his time. A need, and now a little less of one.
