The Tyler Batty selection is the head-turner. The Packers reached 85 spots for him, and it will define how this weekend is remembered. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.

However the rest shakes out, Edwards at that price is a win they earned. The trades bled value they could not afford to lose.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick-by-Pick

R2.3 · Pick 35 · Wyatt Milum · OT · rank 40
No drama and no debate, Wyatt Milum went about where he belonged in pick 35. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R3.7 · Pick 71 · Domani Jackson · CB · rank 71
No edge and no loss on Domani Jackson in the 71st pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R3.17 · Pick 81 · Tyleik Williams · DT · rank 78
Fair-plus on Tyleik Williams, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
R4.13 · Pick 114 · Daylen Everette · CB · rank 106
A quiet steal in the Round 4 slot: Daylen Everette for less than the market said. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
R5.12 · Pick 150 · Jonah Monheim · C · rank 157
By-the-book stuff, Jonah Monheim at Round 5, Pick 12 squarely in line with his ranking. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R5.28 · Pick 166 · Jamon Dumas-Johnson · LB · rank 148
Somehow Jamon Dumas-Johnson was still sitting there in slot 166, and they pounced on premier linebacker value. A minor itch, scratched.
R5.31 · Pick 169 · Logan Brown · OT · rank 156
Logan Brown is a better player than the 169th overall pick suggests; smart patience, rewarded. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R5.32 · Pick 170 · Brady Cook · QB · rank 111
Steal is underselling it; Brady Cook at pick No. 170 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
R5.33 · Pick 171 · Nick Martin · LB · rank 172
Nick Martin in pick 171 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
R6.11 · Pick 186 · Ben Yurosek · TE · rank 142
Ben Yurosek in the Round 6 slot is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A need, and now a little less of one.
R6.33 · Pick 208 · Donovan Edwards · RB · rank 137
Donovan Edwards in the 208th pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
R6.34 · Pick 209 · Jalon Walker · LB-EDGE · rank 207
They paid sticker price for Jalon Walker in Round 6, Pick 34, and that is fine. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R6.36 · Pick 211 · Armand Membou · OT · rank 209
Armand Membou in slot 211 is fair value, right on his grade. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R7.5 · Pick 219 · Kyren Lacy · WR · rank 214
Nothing to complain about; Kyren Lacy went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
R7.11 · Pick 225 · Tory Horton · WR · rank 269
Tory Horton at pick 225 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
R7.34 · Pick 248 · Alfred Collins · DL · rank 267
They talked themselves into Alfred Collins at the 248th pick, and the board did not agree. The roster fit checks out.
R7.38 · Pick 252 · Jordan James · RB · rank 286
They reached a country mile for Jordan James at pick No. 252, and the board is aghast. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R7.39 · Pick 253 · Tyler Batty · DE-EDGE · rank 338
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Tyler Batty. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
R7.40 · Pick 254 · Sage Ryan · S · rank 318
A big swing on Sage Ryan at Round 7, Pick 40, well ahead of any board in the building. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
R7.41 · Pick 255 · Antario Brown · RB · rank 299
A wild overpay on Antario Brown in the Round 7 slot, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R7.42 · Pick 256 · Bru McCoy · WR · rank 244
Nice patience on Bru McCoy, who had no business lasting to the 256th overall pick. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
