Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Hunter Wohler got past him. The Packers do not have to explain a thing at No. 249.
The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
Bottom line, they did the job about as well as it can be done.
Pick-by-Pick
Josh Conerly Jr. is a better player than pick No. 59 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Barrett Carter in No. 90 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Armand Membou in pick 129. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
They let Cobee Bryant come to them and pounced at the 163rd pick. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Julian Fleming at the Round 6 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Hunter Wohler in Round 7, Pick 35 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It adds depth where they could use a little.
