The rest of the league will want that one back. Omarion Hampton tumbling to the Packers in the Round 4 slot is a gift they did not have to think twice about. The bottom line is a respectable B.
For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. Reaching for Griffith left real value on the table behind him.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 25 they get a ballhawk on the outside. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
They robbed the room for Isaiah Bond here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It fills a real need, too.
Smael Mondon Jr. at slot 89 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Somehow Tyler Warren was still sitting there in No. 96, and they pounced on premier tight end value. The roster fit checks out.
They barely believed it either: Omarion Hampton still on the board at Round 4, Pick 29. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They will replay Colston Loveland at the 161st pick for years; that is how good the value is. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Steal is underselling it; Harold Perkins Jr. at the 201st overall pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
Parker Brailsford in pick No. 205 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Barrett Carter in Round 7, Pick 34 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
A real head-scratcher, Thor Griffith in the Round 7 slot is miles ahead of his ranking. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
