The Packers spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: TreVeyon Henderson, the No. 71 name on the board, in pick No. 250.
They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. Job largely done: cornerback settled and 3 of 8 of the wish list covered.
They reloaded the coverage unit in bulk.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 27 they get a sticky cover corner. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Somehow Malaki Starks was still sitting there in Round 2, Pick 26, and they pounced on premier safety value. A minor itch, scratched.
The board fumbled Smael Mondon Jr. all the way to pick No. 91, and they scooped it up. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
A top-tier running back at a bargain, Jordan James in the 127th pick, plain and simple. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Parker Brailsford in No. 163 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Steal is underselling it; Harold Perkins Jr. at slot 202 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
They barely believed it either: TreVeyon Henderson still on the board at the 250th overall pick. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
