Thirty-one other rooms let Carson Schwesinger slide, and the Packers were the ones holding the card at the 201st pick. Highway robbery. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
The cost of the Griffith reach is exactly the players who went right after him. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
Job largely done: cornerback settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 27 they get a ballhawk on the outside, outstanding value to boot. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Tate Ratledge at the 61st pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
A linebacker of that caliber at pick No. 91 is the definition of value, full stop. A minor itch, scratched.
TreVeyon Henderson in the Round 4 slot is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They let Savion Williams come to them and pounced at No. 132. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Circle this one: Domani Jackson at pick 162 is a fall that decides a draft. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Carson Schwesinger in Round 6, Pick 26 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
They took Jonah Monheim at par in the 206th overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Thor Griffith in pick No. 242, miles early. The roster fit checks out.
The board had cheaper options than Garrett Dellinger at Round 7, Pick 36, and it noticed. A need, and now a little less of one.
