You could see the war room lean forward. Raheim Sanders at pick No. 242 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did.
The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The trade work was a quiet net positive. Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
A quiet steal in pick No. 27: Shavon Revel Jr. for less than the market said. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A safety of that caliber at the Round 2 slot is the definition of value, full stop. A minor itch, scratched.
Barrett Carter in Round 4, Pick 26 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Somehow Jake Majors was still sitting there in slot 162, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Jamon Dumas-Johnson in the 201st overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
Raheim Sanders in No. 242 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Jared Wilson in pick 250, plain and simple. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
