This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Kalel Mullings, the No. 110 name on the board, stolen at pick 219. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B+.
They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. The Stutsman pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at edge rusher, wide receiver and other spots. The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
The Garrett Wilson deal gives the class an established piece to lean on.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
A straight-up fair deal on Kelvin Banks Jr. at the Round 1 slot, value and slot in agreement. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They will replay Jihaad Campbell at Round 3, Pick 3 for years; that is how good the value is. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
They read the board right and Alfred Collins was the payoff at pick 79. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
The needs board was loud and they turned it down, spending pick No. 103 on Danny Stutsman with edge rusher, wide receiver and other spots unsolved.
Taking Kalel Mullings in the 219th pick is close to grand larceny; a running back that good had no business lasting this long. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
A tidy bit of business in the 220th overall pick, where Jonah Monheim graded well above the range. The roster fit checks out.
Somehow Xavier Nwankpa was still sitting there in slot 238, and they pounced on premier safety value. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
