You build a draft on nights like this. Danny Stutsman had no business being available in Round 5, Pick 14, and the Cardinals did the only sane thing and turned in the card.
The Cross III pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. The wide receiver spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
Good work on the whole, with wide receiver the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 16 they get a blindside protector, a steep price for the projection. The biggest hole, addressed.
Trey Amos at the Round 2 slot is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
A premium they did not need to pay, Quinn Ewers a notch or two before his time. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Howard Cross III. It fills a real need, too.
