You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Cardinals did exactly that with Mac McWilliams in the 151st pick. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.
If one pick saves this weekend, it is Knight Jr.. A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 16 they get protection for the quarterback, even if it was a touch early. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Isaiah Bond slid further than he should have, and the 47th pick is lovely value for the wide receiver. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Aeneas Peebles in pick No. 78 is fair value, right on his grade. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
They robbed the room for Demetrius Knight Jr. here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Value said wait; Mac McWilliams in pick 151 says they were not listening. A minor itch, scratched.
