Nobody had Ty Robinson this high, and it is not close. The Cardinals reached 94 spots to get him at the 78th overall pick. Fine in stretches, shaky in others: a C+.
That wide receiver hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The Milroe pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged.
It nets out as a middle-of-the-pack haul that neither helps nor hurts much.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 16 they get an anchor for the offensive line, though the board says they badly overpaid. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Nice patience on Jihaad Campbell, who had no business lasting to the Round 2 slot. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Ty Robinson in slot 78 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
The board had Jalen Milroe higher than pick 114, and the quarterback fell to them anyway. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Xavier Scott in pick No. 153 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
