Arizona Cardinals

A respectable, level-headed haul for the Cardinals: B-.

You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Cardinals did exactly that with Kevin Jennings in the 151st pick. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.

The Knight Jr. value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped wide receiver, which is a strange place to end up.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.16 · Pick 16 · Jonah Savaiinaea · OT · rank 36
In the Round 1 slot they get protection for the quarterback, a steep price for the projection. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
R2.15 · Pick 47 · Derrick Harmon · DT · rank 32
Derrick Harmon at Round 2, Pick 15 is money in the bank, a interior defensive lineman taken below his worth. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R3.14 · Pick 78 · Aeneas Peebles · DL · rank 83
They paid sticker price for Aeneas Peebles in slot 78, and that is fine. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R4.12 · Pick 113 · Demetrius Knight Jr. · LB · rank 65
Demetrius Knight Jr. at the 113th overall pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A need, and now a little less of one.
R5.14 · Pick 151 · Kevin Jennings · QB · rank 239
Kevin Jennings at pick No. 151 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
