You build a draft on nights like this. Danny Stutsman had no business being available in No. 173, and the Cowboys did the only sane thing and turned in the card.
Every board in the league had Johnson lower, and that gap is the story. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
Khalil Mack gives the group a proven body among the projects. The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss.
In the end it comes back to Omarion Hampton, and a haul good enough to build on right away.

They paid sticker price for Cobee Bryant in No. 170, and that is fine. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
