The Cowboys bet big and early on Marcus Harris, 25 picks ahead of the board. Bold does not always mean right.
They will regret leaving wide receiver for another day if the season turns on it. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Oladapo.
Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. They gave back a little on the phones for the right to move.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 24th overall pick they get a cornerstone up front. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
No edge and no loss on MarShawn Lloyd in the Round 4 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
A slide stopped in pick No. 174, with Kitan Oladapo worth more than the price. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Marcus Harris at Round 6, Pick 37 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A minor itch, scratched.
Dwight McGlothern at pick 245 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
