The Dolphins torched the value chart for Trey Moore, taking him 126 spots sooner than anyone had him slotted.
The Lawson steal is the beam this whole class leans on. The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. The Mukuba pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at wide receiver and running back.
That wide receiver hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a load in the middle. The biggest hole, addressed.
Steal is underselling it; Malaki Starks at pick No. 52 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Jake Majors in pick 85 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. The roster fit checks out.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Luke Kandra well ahead of where he belonged. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Riley Leonard. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
The board had cheaper options than Hollin Pierce at No. 99, and it noticed. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
They talked themselves into Joshua Gray at pick No. 116, and the board did not agree. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Value said wait; Trey Moore in the Round 4 slot says they were not listening. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
The needs board was loud and they turned it down, spending pick 124 on Andrew Mukuba with wide receiver and running back unsolved.
Daylen Everette in slot 126 lands just on the right side of the ledger. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Deontae Lawson in the 152nd pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Somehow Mason Taylor was still sitting there in No. 157, and they pounced on premier tight end value. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
